Zachary Cunningham is a commercial and narrative film director and writer who weaves poetry and jazz with his arresting visual style to create stories that pack an emotional punch.

 

Working in the streets of his native Detroit as a director, DP, and editor, Zachary first established his evocative visual storytelling style while crafting docu-stories of the people in his community.

 

Zachary's breakthrough short "You Better Run" debuted at the Trinity Film Festival in 2017, winning Best Emerging Filmmaker, and he subsequently went on to write and direct several shorts that have premiered at film festivals stateside and globally.

 

In 2021, he finished his first feature-length film, "A Sentimental Mood."
